Root & Unfurl

mental health services

Get ready to rewild and root down deep, so you can unfurl into who you want to become.

Trauma therapy, with a soulful approach

You can heal from the past, and cultivate hope for the future - a future that you can intentionally dream and grow towards.

I specialize in using depth work to help therapy clients heal from trauma and abuse. That can look like: practicing gentleness and self-compassion, setting healthy boundaries with yourself and others, listening to and respecting each one of your emotions (even the ones you don’t enjoy), getting in touch with the messages of the body, and learning from intergenerational patterns.

Therapeutic Approaches

I tried as a marriage and family therapist, which is sometimes called a systems or systemic therapist. Systems therapy emphasizes that we do not exist in a vacuum - instead, we’re impacted deeply by our larger environments. That includes our families, but also our larger “ecosystem,” society, generation, and even systems of order and oppression.

I also pull from a variety of other models to create a holistic, multifaceted approach. Other types of therapy I incorporate into my work include:

  • Somatic work (mind/body connection), to help us hear the messages and wisdom of your Body, including ways the body may re-route emotional pain into the physical realm

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) or “parts-work,” to help you learn more deeply from your emotions and different sides of yourself

  • Attachment theory (sometimes called psychodynamic), which helps us explore the childhood roots of your present-day experiences, and trace intergenerational relational patterns

Time Zones and Location

I’m based in Amsterdam, so my schedule and working hours reflect that time zone. Currently, all my therapy sessions are conducted online.

I am a Registered member of the Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP) and am qualified to work as a mental health therapist with residents here.

Additionally, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the U.S. states of California and New York, I am also able to work with clients in those states.

You have the right to live a life that is deep, vibrant, and filled with empowerment.
